FREQUENTLY USED BONSAI STYLE ART
Bonsai Styles Often Used by Bonsai Hobbyists
1. Leaning Style (Leaning).
This style makes bonsai look like a big tree that is leaning or tilting in a certain direction, left, right, and back. For this style, Bonsai is trying not to lean forward because aesthetically it will damage the view.
2. Semi Cascade Style (Semi Waterfall).
This style shows that a bonsai half protrudes down almost like a waterfall. Looking at this type of bonsai brings us to the beautiful view of the trees growing in the ravine.
3. Formal Style Upright (perpendicular).
This style features a bonsai with an upright, formal-looking trunk. Like an ordinary tree that grows on flat ground so that it looks upright and sturdy.
4. Upright Informal Style (Upright Bent).
This style features a bonsai upright but not straight, sometimes twisting or bending left, or right, or back. This shows a natural phenomenon that not all trees stand upright and straight.
5. Cascade (Waterfall) style.
This style features a bonsai that looks like a waterfall with the stem from the top rising down like a waterfall. Seeing this type of bonsai reminds us of the beauty of waterfalls in towering mountains.
6. Roots Over Rock Style (Riding on Rocks).
Bonsai with this style displays a combination of the beauty of the stone wrapped in the roots of the bonsai with the beauty of the bonsai itself.

If we look into nature, sometimes we see a tree with a large branched trunk. So in the world of bonsai this model is used as a style. This model is no less beautiful than the other models.
8. Windswpt Style (Blown in the Wind).
This style reminds us of trees on the beach whose branches and leaves stick out in one direction only because of the strong sea breeze. In forming this model, we direct the branches and twigs in one direction so that they look like being blown by the wind.
9. Raft Style (Many Trunks) .
This style is similar to a raft tied from several branches and then used by fishermen when in the river. By highlighting several stems whose roots look together will create a separate image in the beauty of bonsai.
10. Group style (group).
This style shows the bonsai as if it grew like in the forest, coincide with each other. By using this style bonsai will reveal itself as if living in the wild.
Some of the styles above certainly don't have to be absolutely imitated, because basically forming bonsai is the creation of the hands of artists who certainly have their own style and taste, besides that there are also many other models that can be developed into one style in bonsai. Most importantly, some of these styles can be used as a basic reference in forming bonsai.
